Resident Evil Requiem

I like the idea of the 2 gameplay perspective with Leon and Grace, it’s what dragged me into the game in the first place and it seems promising, the action component is a bit clunky with the controller but nothing compared to playing RE4 with the Wii remote, so i should be fine. The horror part seems interesting, it’s been a while since i touched an horror game but for now the scary component is there and the gameplay sections with Leon serve as discharge moments from the tension.

My hope is that the knowledge of the previous chapters it’s not essential to understand the game, it would be a shame to not get the full experience 🫠.

The gameplay loop is revealing it’s self, showing interconnection between maps alternating the 2 characters

After a first section of predominant stealth gameplay with Grace the game has switched the perspective to Leon, with a more action component showing the 2 souls of the game and merging them beautifully showing respect for both gameplay styles.

The story starts to rump up showing characters from the series (thank god i saw that video on the story of RE 😌)

The game starts to rump up to the finale, there are a good amount of references to the 2 chapter of the saga where Leon is introduced as a character, the action component is engaging even after 4 ours of gameplay, that’s something not to take for granted.

Also i liked the human interaction between grace and Alice and the final reaction of Grace to Alice transformation, it makes the character more human.

Completed the game…. Gameplay wise, the game is incredible, the 2 gameplay perspectives are timed perfectly and keeps the player engaged. Story wise i feel that i’m a external to the party, the game takes a lot of his story from the 2 chapter where the Raccoon city incident takes place and i feel that i miss a lot of clues here and there, especially reading the final Grace report, it’s like reading the final chapter of a book before reading the rest. 🫤
